I'm planning on putting some SimCity2000 (yes, I know, a ~2 decade old game that few play anymore) stuff here. I still play it, and I'm still coming up with some neat stuff, as well as I'd like to show off a project I started ~1997 with a multi-tile mosaic built from 25 (currently) individual cities that I'm now just picking up and working on again.
Here it is, a 5x5 tiled city made using SimCity 2000 and stitched together using Photoshop.
Population: 833010.
Population: 250760.
This is a city (called Thomnar, it's a random name I made up) I originally started from the Charleston scenario. I grew to like it so I tweaked it until I really liked it. One day I was playing and thought "Hey, that island should continue, it'd look better that way." So I went and painstakingly continued it.
After a while, I was thinking something along the lines of "Hmm, now I wonder what those neighbours looks like. That leads me to this next picture. Note that it looks sort of like the neighbors view window.
Population: 395900.
And then after that, I decided that the corners looked lonely, so I filled them in with more cities, giving me a 3x3 grid of cities. I left the project here for a while, restarting in 2009. I was frusturated by slight difference between my then VM (as I had updated from XP since I last played SC2k to Win7 x64) and bare metal Windows. So it was put on hold again until now.
Population: 639880.
Some more work, and I have a 4x5 grid done. Almost done the 5x5 grid of cities. On an aside, and a very positive note, I was able to get the game running (including saving and loading) of cities on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Yay!
